Minimalism? When it Suits my Needs

Daily writing prompt
Do you believe in minimalism?

I’ve often heard people beating the same old drum, “I don’t want a lot of stuff to dust,” as their reason for minimalism. Well, I hate to break the news to you: The entire universe is made of gas and dust. So, whether or not you have a bunch of bric-a-brac upon which dust will accumulate, understand that it’s still accumulating. So don’t deny yourself. No sooner than you finish reading these words, run straightaway to the nearest knick-knack store and buy a vase!

Okay, that was my anecdote for the day. The reality? Clutter gives me the heebie-jeebies. The only time I want to coexist with clutter is when walking through a forest; otherwise, I abide by the concept: less is more.

I’ll be on vacation for the next 10 days, but I look forward to getting up to speed on everyone’s blogs upon my return.

  1. Have the best vacation! No souvenirs! They collect dust. Just kidding. Couldn’t resist. I’m on a Swedish Death Cleaning phase here.

I’ll be here when you get back. Enjoy.

    1. It’s said that we learn something new every day. Thanks to you, I just Googled “Swedish Death Cleaning.” Anyway, I purchased an overseas data plan so that I can still get my T-Mobile MLB app. And how ’bout those Yankees! 13 runs in one inning! Crazy! ⚾

      1. Omggggggg the Yankees. I was looking at that game when they were down 3-0 and said guys – you are playing in a minor league stadium. Let’s go. Boom! Yet…they gave up 5 more runs. Glad they won but it started to “swing”(pun intended) the other way.

So excited for your trip. Yay you guys.
