Hey folks. Welcome to Michael’s Corner. Thanks for dropping by. My content includes novels, essays, and perspectives based on the wondrous and, at times, maddening world we share. I hope you find your visit rewarding and that I’ve managed to—and I say this with all humility—enrich you in some small way. If I provoke you, please feel free to push back, keeping in mind that the initiative is to build a bridge, not sink a ship.
My novels are relatable general fiction narratives utilizing irony, humor, pathos, and satire to traverse the breadth of the human condition—its complexities and dysfunctions, struggles, and triumphs. Also, on a page titled Transcendental Journeys, you’ll find stories that make up an opus called “The Boy who Walked with God.”
I am unapologetically sentimental; thus, my essays are primarily about love. Their inspiration is my bride of thirty-one years, Kathryn, a Gulf War veteran and retired flight nurse for the U.S. Air Force. She has been and always shall be my north star.
My interests (loves) include classical music, baseball, history, and nature. You will find these subjects and other matters that represent an overarching concern for our shared humanity on the “perspectives” page. I also intend to keep an “odds and ends” blog post dedicated to sudden thoughts, links to information I feel compelled to share, recipes, and fitness. If you enjoyed your time here, please consider sharing and subscribing. Thanks for dropping by.
Kindest regards,
Michael DeStefano
