Fate? Destiny? Who doesn’t enjoy grappling with issues and questions sure to induce a sneer from Richard Dawkins and a grin from Jordan Peterson? Once when asked, “Do you believe there is a God?” Jordan Peterson replied, “I live as though I do.” It was the perfect answer.
Destiny, spirituality, and the deific: they tend to occupy the same domain, overlap, but perhaps can exist apart from one another. The latter is an issue I’ve grappled with since my teens. I attempted to reconcile the issue in a novel called “The Boy who Walked with God.” I plan to publish the narrative in its entirety on my blog. Recently, I posted the first chapter: A Wayfarer’s Purgatory. Each chapter can stand alone, but the whole knits together to create a cohesive story that cuts with a deep spiritual thrust. It’s on a dedicated static page, so I’m waiting until the final chapter to add a comment section. Meanwhile, if you have any thoughts you wish to share, please return to this blog. What could be better than weighing in on an issue (fate/destiny) that transcends our shared humanity? Often, I read the thoughts of those who blog using the WordPress domain and can tell, many orient themselves in a spiritual manner. I hope to hear from you.
Kindest regards,
Michael DeStefano
